Street Fighter Generations & Bang The Machine
Evolution annouces two extraordinary events.. Manga Entertainment is proud to present the WORLD PREMIERE of Street Fighter Generations, the sequel to the wildy popular Street Fighter Alpha anime. This will be the first audience EVER to see this movie!
Also, after a long haitus, Bang the Machine will be making a comeback to Evolution this year. Profiling the lifestyles of some of the Street Fighter II tournament scene’s top competitors, the documentary follows them from Sunnyvale to Las Vegas as they duke it out for the right to secure a spot on Team USA. The prize-a trip to Japan, home of the world’s most advanced video gaming culture, and the chance to take on the best in a championship match between the two national teams. While capturing the testosterone and near-obsessive intensity of the slick-fingered youths, director Tamara Katepoo also brings a sociological eye to the hierarchical politics rife in the East Coast / West Coast cliques, exposing a conflict that resurfaces in a volatile Tokyo showdown that threatens to tear apart Team USA. BANG THE MACHINE presents a refreshingly entertaining, insightful portrait of a youth culture tapped by a flourishing gaming industry larger than Hollywood. Intriguingly, it is a culture where the racial power structures of society at large are inverted (Asian Americans command the most respect, while the most feared and admired are the Japanese) and where American identity emerges precisely when they are confronted by a foe more foreign than any amongst them,
Executive Producer Peter Kang will be on hand to field any question you might have about the movie. Both movies will be shown on Friday, August 12, 2005 in the nighttime. No recording devices of any kind are allowed. Also, a Evo2k badge is required to see the movie.
Visit Bang The Machine and Manga Entertainment for more information.

Hotel Booking Information!
Individuals attending Evolution/MLG events are to call the Reservations Office at (866) 782-9487, and identify themselves as attendees of Evolution 2005/Major League Gaming. In order to receive the group room rate, a credit card must be provided and charged a deposit of one night’s room and tax at the time of booking. Green Valley Ranch Resort & Spa will take reservations for the Evolution 2005/Major League Gaming group until July 22, 2005, After that, this rate is not reserved only for EVO/MLG players, and may sell out. So book your room now!
The rate is $139 a night. You must be over 21 years of age to book a hotel room in Las Vegas, but you don't need to be 21 to stay in the room.
It cannot be stressed enough on how convenient it is to have an event like this in the same hotel you are staying at. It saves up on travelling costs (gas), time (wasted on driving, waiting for people), and footwork. You don't even have to go anywhere, since all Casinos have a buffet and several restaurants for you to enjoy! Want to take a nap? Just go to your room for a bit, as opposed to just laying down on a hard floor! Want to eat? Just get your ass to the buffet! Your bodies will thank me later. Need proof of how great this is? Ask anyone who came from out-of-town to Texas Showdown 5, they loved it.
Use the group rate! Rooms without the mention of MLG will cost $189-$299! Think about it... that means more money for food, drink, and gambling!

Extra Information
Just to point out a few facts that people may have overlooked, and some new information.
1) Voting for the extra games will end on July 15th at 12:01am PST, but registration online will remain open until August 8th at 12:01am PST. At that time, online registration will close, and you will be required to register in person at the event.
************************************************************************************
So... If by July 15th, 12:01am, 1,032 people have registered to play VF4, but only two of them have actually paid, there will be no VF4 tournament. Of course you will receive a refund if your game does not make it, but this is just to clear up any lingering doubts about how the voting process works.
All the guaranteed tournaments will happen regardless of how many online payments they get, but you *cannot* just sign up for one of the extra tournaments and plan to pay when you show up in August. The game will be cancelled if it doesn't receive the paid votes by July 15th (it ends early because we need time to secure the equipment and prepare for any extra tournaments). ************************************************************************************
2) On site registration will be $25 instead of $20. We encourage you to register online, so there is no hassle of a huge line, and we can get accurate numbers for the event.
3) All games that are not voted into Evolution will receive a full refund. If you paid for Soul Calibur 2 and only SC2, your $30 will be fully refunded in the method you specified in your Evolution profile. If you entered more than one game, and at least one of those games for Evo is a lock, you will ONLY be refunded for the game that didnt make it.
4) There will be NO on-site registration on Friday, August 12th, 2005. The tournament will start promptly in the morning, so if you aren't going to be in town on Thursday night, you MUST pre-register online.
5) Even if you plan on paying in person, it would save EVO tons of time, if you still could pre-register without paying and make sure you have the correct games checked to ensure a speedy registration process.

Evolution Hotel and Location Announced
The wait is finally over. After a long and drawn out process of securing a location, we are finally happy to announce where it will take place.
Evolution will be held at Green Valley Ranch Resort. Only minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip, you will discover an escape that combines exciting casino action and the hottest nightlife with the pampering and relaxation of a luxury resort and spa. Whether your stay is for pleasure, business, action or relaxation, Green Valley Ranch will treat you to an experience that is truly close to the action, but a world apart.
Recently awarded the AAA Four Diamond Award and voted "Best Local Hotel" by the Las Vegas Review Journal, Green Valley Ranch offers a world-class hotel, a European-style spa and a casino with everyone's favorite games.
Green Valley Ranch Resort is also where American Casino is filmed. American Casino goes behind the scene at the glamorous four diamond Green Valley Ranch Resort and Casino and reveals just what it takes to lure the rich, the famous, and the high rollers away from the Las Vegas strip to their intimate and extravagant resort and casino.
Please don't book your room just yet, as a dominator deal is in the works to save Evolution and MLG people alot of money. Staying in the hotel that is hosting Evolution 2005 is a major benefit, and you don't want to miss out on this offer.
